Nothing gets skiers more excited than early season snowfall and SCARPA ski athletes Shaun Raskin and Weston D were no exception. Eager to get out and film the second season of Life Unbound (and test the powder conditions) in Utah a few weeks ago, they hiked at just about every ski resort in the Salt Lake area. Skiing in the SCARPA T-Race boots, Shaun and Weston found some amazing powder stashes along the way.
From Life Unbound: “Two early season storms set the tempo for the early 12-13 season. We first got a 42″ storm up north at Snowbasin and Powder Mountain followed by a lull that all but melted the snow pack. During the downtime we attended the Alta athlete party kicking off the 75th year at the storied resort. We were treated to a historic slide show from the one and only Jimmy Collinson tying over 100 years of the past with the present. The second storm dropped 52″ on Little and Big Cottonwood canyon and it was game on. With rocks still peering out from all angles, it was enough to link up some very deep turns. As the weather warmed we turned to our own back yard, Park City, for a tour of the Monitors.”
