R-evolution Plus GTX is Built for All Terrain Adventure

Mar. 18th 2015

It comes down to this: SCARPA’s R-evolution Plus GTX boot is a versatile all-conditions trekking boot that can handle the rigors of the mountain wilderness like no other. Whether shouldering heavy loads, crossing snowfields, climbing scree or covering miles of single track in route to new heights, the Revolution Plus GTX is built to prevail.

At its core, the R-evolution begins with SCARPA’s proprietary Sock-Fit XT construction system, which provides a superior snugness around the contours of the foot to better combat the chance of blisters, prevents heel rise and increases overall lateral stability. Together it inspires confidence in challenging terrain. The tongue and flex point are built from a single piece of S-Tech Schoeller® elastic fabric that features a Gore-Tex® membrane that simultaneously reduces bulk and increases responsiveness. It’ll vent out moisture and keep rain or soppy conditions at bay so you’re feet stay drier and ultimately more comfortable in hot, wet and/or chillier environments.

To further maximize comfort, we utilize self-shaping ankle padding made from memory foam that works with natural foot heat to conform to the unique anatomical shape of individual feet. The foam maintains its memory with regards to last and thickness so it returns to its original shape after each use. This reduces potential hot spots and unpleasant pressure build up over prolonged use—ideal for multi-day trips into the rocky hills. And Ladies, it comes with a women-specific anatomical last.

Like venturing off trail? Bolstered by an abrasion resistant rand that wraps around the boot, the 2mm water-resistant Nubuck leather uppers are stable yet supple for better nuanced stepping in talus slopes and maneuvering through small boulder fields. Think about the ease of movement when tackling moderate-difficulty peak bagging over blocky terrain while wearing a potentially stout pack and you get the idea.

The unsung hero of the boot is the dual density EVA midsole, which increases shock-absorption for eventual missteps on the trail that in turn saves energy over the long haul. Again, this helps you stay out longer with continued comfort and protection from rugged and technical trails.

The outsole’s design has specific lugs to increase thrusting power off each stride, increases braking grip on steeper or loose downhills, and self-cleaning grooves that shed unwanted pebbles, snow and mud. The R-evolution has the capability to perform in most mountain environments that include technical single track and open backcountry. For alpine trekking and peak bagging, the R-evolution starts now.
