Located just outside the bright lights and late nights of Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is one of the top climbing destinations in the west. The Red Rock Rendezvous climbing festival is a gathering of the climbing community to celebrate the sport we all love. Heralded as “America’s best climbing festival,” the Red Rock Rendezvous takes place from Friday, March 30 – Sunday, April 1 (no pranks allowed).
One of the many great prizes being auctioned off at the Red Rock Rendezvous next weekend is a day of climbing with SCARPA athlete Rob Pizem. But that’s not the only reason to head to the warmer weather of southern Nevada.
The event attracts some of the top climbers in the world, many of whom will be hosting clinics throughout the weekend. There will be something for everyone, from beginner climbers looking to try sticky rubber on rock for the first time to advanced climbers hoping to learn more about climbing rescues. Clinics cover topics such as self rescue, multi-pitch climbing, trad climbing for women, slacklining, rope care and crevasse rescue systems. SCARPA athletes Mercedes Pollmeier and Rob Pizem will be on the scene, and SCARPA will be demoing climbing shoes and giving away gear throughout the three-day event. Time to fire up the camping rig!
