Scenes from Westward Episode 1.
What started with a camcorder and a couple friends making hippy turns on freeheel gear in the Wasatch backcountry evolved into a 10-year run of the much loved ski film company for the every man, Powderwhore Productions. In episode 1 of Westward, Jonah Howell, one of the founders of Powderwhores, explores the roots and rebelliousness of the Whores, the dedication it takes to make a ski film each season, and the eventual end of the “company,” if you can even call it that. The Powderwhores may be gone, but they are not forgotten. Their celebration of the fun of skiing, especially when exploring the backcountry, can still be felt. Season 2 of Westward is proudly supported by Flylow Gear, Oskar Blues Brewing Company, Rocky Mountain Underground, and SCARPA. Watch the full video below. Then check out Jonah’s latest project Gear Gospel, an in-depth resource for all your backcountry gear. Continue reading...

These four intriguing individuals are dedicated skiers who’ve chosen to eschew traditional jobs and city life to follow their own paths and pursue their passions in the remote, snow-covered corner of the globe that is Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Along the way, they may have been forced to leave something behind, but through their migration, they have discovered a treasure all their own. Watch the trailer below.
Even at a glance it’s easy to notice the free heel TX Pro is not messing around. The four buckle NTN (New Telemark Norm) system boot is built for maximum power and finesse, boasting all of SCARPA’s tricks and materials, including tech fitting compatibility. By design, the system’s dual connection creates a stronger interface between boot and ski, providing more powerful edge to edge responsiveness, while maintaining natural flex and overall driveability. Paired with NTN, this boot/binding system sets the new standard for free heel performance.
Here’s how you can ensure the best fit when trying on your new pair of F1 Evos.
