More than a retail store, Park City’s White Pine Touring is a tour de force of Wasatch Mountain enthusiasm. In its fourth decade, White Pine is a continually growing bastion for all things outdoors. “It’s a huge toy store,” says store manager Eric LaPerle. “People tend to have their mouths drop the first time they step into White Pine.”
Opened in 1972, Park City’s White Pine Touring was the brainchild of Charlie Sturgis, who began the shop as a modest Nordic ski shop and tuning outfit for the community’s burgeoning touring culture. Forty-plus years later and White Pine has evolved into a large, 7,000-square-foot stronghold.
