The Life Unbound: Shaun Raskin and Weston D share their passion for skiing and community

Oct. 11th 2012

SCARPA has signed on as the presenting sponsor for 2012-2013 season of The Life Unbound, a webisode collaboration of two of SCARPA’s telemark athletes, Weston Deutschlander and Shaun Raskin.

After years of being involved in many facets of the industry, the duo (Shaun and Weston) decided it was time to share their voices and show things as they see it. They purchased a camera and the bare essentials, and set out to show what their lives as big mountain athletes, advocates and adventurers is all about. “Skiing and the spirit of adventure has always played a huge role in my life and it’s been amazing to be with someone who shares that same level of passion. I think we both are just looking to share our experience in an effort to inspire others to go after what they believe in” says Raskin. Along with sharing their passion of the outdoors, The Life Unbound (LUB) places a large priority on community. “Community is of the utmost importance to us,” says Weston. “Without community, skiing would not share the special place in hearts that it does. LUB is a way for us to give back to those that have given us so much.”

As a hint of what is to come, SCARPA is proud to re-release their final episode from the first season. “The Sorcerer” follows the couple as they descend on one of the few places that actually got snow last year, the Selkirks in BC. They ski pillows, hike in the high alpine and learn the ins and outs of lodge life.

SCARPA is proud to support Weston D and Shaun Raskin, we hope you tune back in as we premiere their episodes throughout the season.
